Roxxem Skill Tree Guide: What to Unlock First

Hugo

Season 1 put every Roxxem power into one skill tree. Every level gives you a skill point, so the choices start early. Here's how the tree works and where to spend your first points.

Go to your Powers page to allocate skill points.

How the tree works

  • Tiers unlock with your level: tier 1 at level 1, tier 2 at level 2, tier 3 at level 4, tier 4 at level 8 and tier 5 at level 12.
  • Prerequisites: a power above tier 1 needs one of the powers listed under "Requires". One is enough.
  • Ranks: 1 skill point learns a power and each extra point adds a rank, up to 5.
  • Slots: you equip 2 powers at level 1, 3 at level 5 and 4 at level 12. You can only equip one ultimate (tier 5) at a time.

You start with each game's starter power: Critical Strike (Whac-A-Word and Quiz Ninja), Sentence Hint (Sentence Snake) and Water (Vocab Harvest).

Your first points, game by game

Whac-A-Word. Rank up Critical Strike first: more uses and a bigger multiplier on your best answers. At level 4, Second Chance protects your streak, which is where most of a Whac-A-Word score comes from.

Quiz Ninja. Learn Fifty-Fifty at level 2 to cut wrong answers, then Precognition at level 4 to see answers ahead. Bushido at level 8 is high risk and high reward.

Sentence Snake. Deadly Strike at level 2 doubles a line's points. At level 4, choose Inspiration for extra attempts if you're still learning the sentences, or Revelation to see the word tiles.

Vocab Harvest. Longest Season at level 2 slows the decay of every word, so you lose fewer of them. Timestop at level 4 freezes the board when it gets busy.

Planning for later

  • Inner Fire (level 8) raises all your points in every game, and it's reachable from four different powers, so it fits almost any build.
  • Ultimates (level 12) are the payoff: Resurrection for every game, All or Nothing for Quiz Ninja, Adrenaline for Whac-A-Word, Double Down for Vocab Harvest, and Plot Twist in live games.
  • In live games, Lifesteal, Shield and Blessing lead to Meteor and Freeze, the powers that shake up a leaderboard.

One last tip

It costs passion to take skill points back, so think one tier ahead before you spend. And the climb is quick at the start: your first game earns your first skill point.
